The 2009 California Urban Forest Conference: “What Now? What Next? A New Direction for Urban and Community Forestry” was a great success. Over 100 participants filled the conference room in Ventura as Andy Lipkis, President of TreePeople, delivered the keynote address “Engaging Nature and Community for Safe, Healthy and Resilient Cities”. Participants attended sessions detailing innovations, management strategies, and current research and development in urban forestry. Over 25 California ReLeaf Network member groups were represented.
The conference was cohosted by the California Urban Forests Council. Presentations will soon be available via this website.
