2024 Learn Over Lunch Series

Building Connections Across Our Statewide Network

About Learn Over Lunch

California ReLeaf started the Learn Over Lunch (LOL) program for Network Member organizations as a result of the pandemic shutdown. Learn Over Lunch was developed to give Network Member organizations the chance to gather virtually multiple times a year to share and connect on a wide range of Urban and Community Forestry topics like educational programs, volunteer and community engagement strategies, workforce development programs, tree care tips, new tree planting initiatives, developing community partnerships, and so much more.

We have two main goals for Learn Over Lunch:

1. Build Connection Across the ReLeaf Network

We gather to build bonds across the Network, help member organizations get to know one another and hear what each organization is up to.

2. Provide Peer-to-Peer Learning Opportunities for Network Members

We hope Network Members can come to learn about tools, systems, and strategies that other groups are using and can walk away with some useful information. We encourage group discussions so resources and ideas can be shared by not only the presenting Network Member but to all who participate.

2024 Learn Over Lunch Dates

In 2024, we will host Learn Over Lunch (LOL) sessions over Zoom every other month starting in April on select Wednesdays from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Who Can Attend Learn Over Lunch?
Individuals from ReLeaf Network Member organizations are welcome to attend. This includes Network Member organizational staff, volunteers, and board members.

What are the requirements to present?
Guest speakers must also represent a ReLeaf Network organization. To feel more comfortable presenting, we recommend attending at least one Learn Over Lunch before presenting so that they understand the flow and community feel of these sessions. Please reach out to ReLeaf staff for more information.
Will Learn Over Lunch Sessions be recorded?
California ReLeaf will record the presentation portion. We will not record the Q&A and discussion portion to maintain a space where groups can feel comfortable sharing struggles or issues they are facing.
