This project will benefit communities throughout California, where more than 94% of our state’s citizens live. California Arbor Week activities include our statewide poster contest for 3rd to 5th grade students and will improve the quality of life for residents and advance the health and wellness benefits that urban forests provide to our local communities. Through the lesson plans and poster theme, “The Trees in My Community Are an Urban Forest” students will increase their knowledge of the important roles of trees and the many benefits they provide to our communities.
