Sacramento City Forester Earns National Award

Sacramento City Forester Joe Benassini is the recipient of a 2012 Arbor Day Award honoring his outstanding contribution to tree planting, conservation, and stewardship. Benassini is one of 16 individuals and organizations being recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation this year. He is receiving a Champion of Trees Award in recognition of his leadership in advancing effective forestry public policy.

“By dedicating his professional life to effective urban forestry and providing vital tree maintenance through strong leadership and strategic policy, Joe Benassini serves as model for tree care professionals,” said John Rosenow, founder and chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation.
