Los Angeles Parks Job

The National Parks Conservation Association is looking for the right person to serve as their Los Angeles Program Manager.

The Los Angeles Program Manager, as part of NPCA’s Pacific Region field operations, works in coordination with the Senior Regional Director and the Associate Regional Director, to implement NPCA’s strategic priorities in the region.

The Program Manager serves as the key point of contact for NPCA’s work in the Greater LA Area and covers the following national parks in LA and beyond: Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, Channel Islands National Park, Cesar Chavez National Monument, and Cabrillo National Monument. Under the direction of the Senior Regional Director, the Program Manager will coordinate and implement regional and national program goals including park funding and specific park protection advocacy.

The Program Manager will work with existing program initiatives and will take actions necessary to address immediate and emerging threats in Coastal Southern California and, as appropriate, within the greater Pacific region. Expanding existing National Park Service units will be an important aspect of the work, with a particular emphasis on the proposed “Rim of the Valley” expansion of Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
